About Us
Cypher Univercity began as a group of homies getting together on NC State Campus for weekly freestyle rap sessions. Nearly 9 years in and the cypherheads are going stronger than ever.
Organized by Eshod Howard, Shep Bryan, and a board of veteran hip hop archivists, Cypher U exists with the mission of spreading knowledge about the roots of hip hop culture and giving people a platform to be heard.
Cypher Univercity has a presence on university campuses across the United States and has been featured at the Cannes Film Festival.
